Old Zoo Directions

Once you are on Crystal Springs Drive, you will begin to see orange signs for "FREE SHAKESPEARE". Although that is NOT our organization, follow the signs! They will get you to where you need to go.

Once you have parked in Lot 2 (just past the Merry-Go-Round), head this way. Yeah, yeah, I know - this is not very descriptive... go towards the trashcan. But hopefully it will help a little bit.

Keep walking... past all the picnics, birthday parties, volleyball games, etc. It's a happening little spot!

Follow this winding driveway up the hill.

And here we are! At one of the old animal habitats at the OLD zoo. In his lair - we have here Kevin - a rare species indeed. Although this is not technically a "Natural Stage" but rather an unnatural manmade structure made to LOOK natural.... we think it's well in the spirit of our organization. The acoustics in this venue are amazing. And honestly, I had not been there prior to scouting it for NSP, and I think it's a somewhat unknown landmark deserving of our attention.

There are several other "lairs" in this area, so we may not be at this one, but you get the picture. Find us. We will be easy to spot with all the musical instruments. As you can see, the seating is limited, so bring a blanket or a chair.

If you decide to come early or stay late to go on a more intense hike - I highly recommend heading up the hill past some other abandoned Zoo buildings/cages for some nice views of Glendale. It's a strange experience.

Although NSP does not vouch for the safety of these cage structures - they are pretty neat. Just keep a close eye on your kids.

And if you are still not satisfied with our directions, check out this website and click on the link at the top that says “Griffith Park Festival (Getting There)”.
