Topanga State Park

Driving Directions:

From the 101, take Topanga Canyon Drive south towards the PCH.  Make a left on Entrada Road and follow signs to Topanga State Park (you basically make a left a bunch of times until you get to the top of a big hill).  If you’re coming FROM the PCH, take Topanga Canyon Drive North, and make a RIGHT on Entrada Road.  Park in or near the upper parking lot.  Parking IN the parking lot will cost you $8 – but if you can spare it, please do (if you can’t, just park on a side street).  State Parks needs our help!  The good ol’ gov’na is planning on shutting down almost ALL California State Parks as of Labor Day!  Please visit this site to learn more and see how you can help!  www.savetopangastatepark.org We typically don’t like to impose our political viewpoints, but this one is super important!

Here is the parking lot where you can park for $8. Steep, huh?! If you can't afford it, you can always park on the street. But DO keep in mind that by paying to park, you are making a small contribution which may actually help to keep state parks open! (Note, there are bathrooms here! And drinking fountains!)

As of Labor Day, the state is intending to CLOSE almost ALL of the California State Parks (Including this one). Please help save the parks! www.savetopangastatepark.org

Tippet Ranch Trailhead. Look for this sign (near the parking lot), and then follow the trail! It's pretty easy. (Note: Dogs are NOT allowed. I'm not sure why. Horses are though... ?)

A few steps in, stay to the right at the fork. It's pretty obvious though (to the left, there are buildings, etc.).

At the top of this little hill, you'll see a sign that says "TRAIL" and points left. Follow that sign.

Here's a little meadow where we can set up our portable chairs or picnic blankets. It's shady, cool and spacious.

If you forget your chair or blanket, you can sit on this little bench.

Performers may (or may not, we'll see) perform where Kevin is standing. The view behind is incredible!

And here's the view you've been waiting for. I wish my camera could do it justice. Note the little glimpse of the ocean. From here, you can see many aeroplanes flying over the sea...
